eCommerce site for author and photographer

Requirements

Client wanted to showcase his work as an actor and photographer while focusing on selling his self-published books. In addition to an eCommerce platform, the site needed to be a space where he could share his creativity with the world.

Solution

I set up a blog to provide a way for him to keep his audience engaged and as a free advertising method for his books. Products were set up in a way that allows him to quickly and easily add new books as he publishes them, using custom templates and categories.

Simply poetic

Focused on a clean but artistic design to highlight his creative side and photography while pulling site visitors to his product pages.

/* Development */

Created a child theme for style and functionality customizations.

eCommerce Setup {

  • Product management and checkout with WooCommerce

}

Backend Customizations {

  • Removed controls from the Dashboard that the customer was not going to use, making it easier for him to navigate the Admin area

}

Category Quotes {

  • Added functionality to show category descriptions (which we use for quotes) automatically at the top of category pages

}

Marketing

Due to the focus on audience engagement and the client’s proclivity towards writing, Facebook was chosen as the primary method of advertising. Automatic blog posting was implemented for an easy, free marketing solution.

Analytics

Google analytics and Facebook pixel were implemented (need logos) to track how customers were finding the site and where they were leaving.

I love what Jennifer did to my web page. It’s beautiful, and she did a phenomenal job.
